We are looking for a Translator (Turkish-Chinese) for our growing team in Comprehensive Department.

Job Description

• To translate documents in the Chinese-Turkish language pair
• To provide Turkish to Chinese and Chinese to Turkish written translation and verbal interpreting of all types of documents and topics required by the Bank. The topics include but are not limited to technical, legal, commercial, financial etc.
• To conduct consecutive and accurate translation, transcription, and interpretationdaily meetings, business meetings, and professional conversations, including one to one and group settings between Turkish and Chinese and vice versa
• To consult with other members of the department regarding terminology, work with colleagues on reporting and larger projects with tight deadlines and, in general, contribute to maintaining a harmonious work environment
• To contribute to the effective functioning of the department by following the established administrative procedures
• To convert the original texts from one language into another, ensuring that the meaning of the source text is retained, the message from the original text is conveyed into the Chinese to Turkish and vice versa, and deadlines are met
• To receive briefing or prepare through reading and study on subject to be discussed prior to interpreting session
• To assist the related team in  the organizations such as Chinese Delegation’s visits to Turkey
• To follow ethical codes that protect the confidentiality of information
• To support team-spirit while working towards common team and bank goals
• To assist with any additional tasks required by Senior Management
• To assist management in translating documents from Chinese to Turkish or vice versa in high quality; and using the corporate terminology in clear language understood by all parties involved

Desired Skills & Experience

• Excellent written and oral Chinese proficiency
• Excellent written and oral Turkish proficiency
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (translation, linguistics etc.)
• Excellent command of English is a plus
• Minimum 5 years of experience in translating/interpreting in finance industry
• Having experience with simultaneous/consecutive interpreting and translation in large conferences is a plus
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Experience within multicultural environments
• To have an excellent command of Turkish and Chinese with the ability to provide clear and concise oral and written communication, with an understanding of the culture behind the language
• Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
• Detail-oriented with strong memory skills
• No restrictions for travel
• No military obligation for male candidates
• Ability to confidentially handle sensitive information,
• Fluency in Chinese and Turkish in reading, writing and speaking
• Ability to comprehend written/oral Turkish
• Ability to effectively handle multi-task assignments under pressure and deadlines
• Ability to work efficiently and in cooperation with team members
