QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

General  Summary

Provide exceptional service to vendors and team members through accurate and timely orders.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining excellent communication with all the business stakeholders.
  • Researching and identifying prospective suppliers.
  • Maintaining strong supplier relations.
  • Evaluating products and suppliers according to key business criteria.
  • Preparing proposals, requesting quotes, create and maintain purchase orders for all tags.
  • Preparing and issuing purchase orders and agreements.
  • Analyzing purchase and offer bids and negotiating accordingly.
  • Monitoring supplier performance and resolving issues and concerns.
  • Inspecting and evaluating the quality of purchased items and resolving shortcomings.
  • Analyzing industry and demand trends and supporting senior management with the development and implementation of sourcing strategies.
  • Preparing reports and maintaining accurate inventory and procurement records.
  • Complying with company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
  • Reviewing purchased item quantities on PO’s vs actual demand
  • Facilitating resolutions for open orders past due.
  • Evaluating and making recommendations to improve procedures, reporting, costing and efficiencies.
  • Work with Accounts Payable to resolve invoicing issues to maintain price agreements as determined as PO was issued.


Purchasing Specialist Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience as a Purchasing Specialist or in a similar role.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a similar field preferred.
  • Good working knowledge of purchasing strategies.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and with business application software, purchasing, and resource planning systems.
  • Team player with outstanding organizational skills.
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Must be flexible and adaptable to change
